Andrew Lake is a recent graduate who works as a Research and Development Manager at Lakefront Development Group. In this role, he is responsible for conducting market research and detailed analysis to support commercial real estate development projects in Pittsburgh and South Florida. His work includes developing strategies to identify new opportunities and implementing plans that enhance investment and development activities.
Lake brings a range of essential skills to his position, including financial analysis, market research, client relations, quality management systems, and project management. These abilities allow him to handle a variety of responsibilities and add value to both internal processes and client-focused projects.
Academic Experience
Andy Lake completed his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship with a concentration in Finance. His academic performance was recognized with the Green and Gold Scholars Award in 2020, which provided tuition expense reduction for first-year, out-of-state students who demonstrated substantial academic achievement.
In addition to his coursework, Andrew played an active role in student and community activities. For four years, he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. During this time, he served as Ritual Chair, a position in which he upheld organizational values while also leading fundraising initiatives to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute. His involvement showed his ability to balance academic responsibilities with service and leadership roles.
His Earlier Education
Lake's dedication to learning and growth began at an early age. While attending Marshall Middle School, he earned Honor Roll recognition for the 2014–2015 academic year. This accomplishment established a strong foundation for his later education.
During high school, Lake continued to excel academically while participating in various athletic activities. He received multiple Scholar Athlete Awards from the North Allegheny Unified Boosters Organization for his involvement in football (2014–2015, 2015–2016), basketball (2014–2015), and lacrosse (2017–2018).
Andrew Lake also attended Summer’s Best Two Weeks Camp, which emphasized leadership development and sportsmanship. Counselors consistently noted his positive approach, work ethic, and ability to motivate others. By following the camp’s “I’m Third” philosophy, he embodied the values of humility and service while also earning respect as both a competitor and a leader.
Andy graduated from North Allegheny Senior High School in Wexford, Pennsylvania, with a GPA of 3.6. His achievements included recognition as a multi-year Scholar-Athlete and being named a finalist for the John Rullan Lacrosse Scholarship in 2020.
Professional Experience
Even before finishing college, Lake had built significant professional experience. At SRI Quality System Registrar in Wexford, he interned and earned the ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certificate for Quality System Management. To obtain this credential, he completed a rigorous two-month training program with SAE International, becoming the youngest person in the company’s history to achieve it.
As part of his internship, Andy Lake participated in quality management audits for multiple clients, giving him practical exposure to business process review and quality control. He also helped create and implement improved communication systems between customers and the scheduling team, demonstrating his ability to contribute to operational improvements.
In addition to this experience, Andrew held positions at The Toy House and Emporio Restaurant. These roles allowed him to strengthen his customer service skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving approaches. They also provided experience in fast-paced work environments, where adaptability and teamwork were essential.
Technical Skills
Andrew is proficient in Microsoft Office and has a foundation in Python programming. Additionally, he speaks basic Spanish, which broadens his ability to communicate with a broader range of people.
Community Service
Service has played an essential role in Lake's academic and personal life. Through his involvement with Sigma Chi, he helped lead fundraising efforts for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. His service extended further through his volunteer work with the Miracle League, an organization that enables children with mental and physical disabilities to enjoy baseball. By participating in this program, he helped create an environment where children could experience the game in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Personal Life
Andrew Lake was born in Marietta, Georgia, and has a close relationship with his family. He has four siblings and enjoys spending time with his niece and nephews. His role as an uncle is something he values greatly, and family remains a central part of his life.
Sports remain one of his primary interests. Andy is a golfer with a 14 handicap and often plays the sport with his siblings. In addition, he enjoys basketball and football, both of which have been essential parts of his life since his school years.
Beyond athletics, his interests include traveling, fishing, and cooking. He also pursued aviation during high school by taking flying lessons, which gave him another opportunity to learn and explore new skills.
As Lake advances in his career, he is preparing to earn his commercial real estate license, with a focus on building opportunities in the South Florida market. His background in Finance, combined with his entrepreneurial training and early professional experience, gives him a strong foundation to pursue growth in this field.
